Far East Cruise - 6th Port of Call Brunei

Brunei was an amazing experience, a MUST visit again Country. No taxes to pay, petrol is only 53 Brunei cents a litre, free top rate health care and medicines, free top class education - barely any crime, no unemployment, first class houses but..................... no alcohol!

Mosque in the water village - 30,000 people live in the largest water village in the world, there are 25 separate villages. The water village was once the capital city of Brunei

The nearest we could get to the Sultan's Palace, well hidden and well guarded This is the most ornate Mosque in Brunei, paid for by the Sultan for his people

I have fond memories of Brunei... last visited about ten years ago... well worth a return visit... the "special tea" in the local chinese restaurants was a lovely pale well chilled amber liquid commonly known as beer!!! till they got raided and revert to the oolong variety!
Your photos bought back some happy memories of beach barbecues on a deserted beach. I agree the clouds are deceptive and the rain storms we saw were awesome and often very welcome!
Well worth a return visit a must is a night visit to Jeradong Park the free theme park built by the Sultan for his subjects.
